Caribbean Style Pepper Steak 🇨🇳

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Ib Beef steak 
  • 3 Bell peppers Red, green, orange 1/4 of each color
  • 3 Garlic cloves
  • 5 tbsp Mushroom soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Black pepper
  • ½ Cup Ketchup
  • 3 tbsp Complete seasoning 
  • 3 tbsp Adobo
  • 1 tbsp Jerk sauce
  • 1 tbsp Green seasoning
  • 1 tsp Red pepper flakes Optional
  • 1 Scotch bonnet pepper Optional
  • ¼ Cup Green onions Finely diced
  • 3 stems Thyme
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients 

  • Slice the beef into thin strips against the grain. (Or get the already chopped pepper steak at the supermarket)
  • Thinly slice the bell peppers, green onions and onion.
  • Mince the garlic cloves.

Step 2: Marinate the Beef 

  • To a bowl add the beef strips mushroom soy sauce, black pepper, complete seasoning, adobo, jerk sauce and green seasoning. Toss until well coated.
  • Let the beef marinate for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse. Overnight for maximum flavor.

Step 3: Cook the Pepper Steak 

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
  • Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. 
  • Remove the beef and juices from the skillet and set it aside.

Step 4: Sauté the Vegetables 

  • In the same skillet, add a little more oil if needed.
  • Add the sliced bell peppers and onion to the skillet and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften but still retain their crispness.
  • Season the vegetables with a pinch of salt and pepper.

Step 5: Combine and Simmer 

  • Return the cooked beef and juices to the skillet with the vegetables.
  • Pour in 1/4 cup of water and add ketchup. Stir everything together.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil and let it simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy 

  • Taste the pepper steak and adjust the seasoning if needed.
  • Serve the pepper steak hot over steamed rice or noodles.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds for added flavor and presentation.
